Service Outreach Ministry
at St. Luke's

An important ministry at St. Luke’s is to reach out and serve the congregation, the community and the world. We currently are involved in the following areas.
Network of Community Ministries: This ecumenical organization is sponsored by many of the Richardson churches to help meet the needs of those in our community. Volunteers from the various congregations distribute food to the needy, administer financial assistance with rent and utilities and offer a variety of services to those in need through this organization.
Blood Drive: Twice a year St. Luke’s volunteers donate the gift of life. The congregation provides the opportunity for individuals to sponsor families that cannot give flood so that they many be covered in case of an emergency.
School Supply Ministry: This neighborhood outreach program supplies school supplies for the needy children at an area grade school.
Garage Sale: Each spring St. Luke’s members get together to co-sponsor a garage sale with a service team of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Half the funds raised at the sale go to an outreach ministry and half to a congregational need.
